the making of a mini zine

Over at http://www.mailmesomeart.blogspot.ca/2013/06/mini-zine-swap-mail-by-july-29th.html

one of there swaps is a mini zine.  This is the second time they have done this and
if I participate the second time I would have made a mini zine.  I don't like to fully commit to something until I actually think I can do it, and it might not be crap.  So
the first thing was try to think of something to make a mini zine about.  So while swimming today my best thinking place, my mind drifted back to when I was much
younger and my family went on our annual vacation, there was always drama,
fun, something broken down, so lets just say lots for a zine.  So on that note
I quickly and I mean quickly sketched  things that might go in the zine.  Now
I have folded up the zine, and am now going to make a mock up of what it might
look like.  If I am happy with it, then and only then will I sign up for the
zine exchange. What is your process when you sign up for something, do you jump in and commit right away or do you just think about it.

  1. What an interesting sketch. I'm looking forward to a peek at the zine if you decide. I can sometimes be a last-minute kind of person, to actually do a project, but I think about it for a long time, stewing on an idea or two, rounding up supplies. Usually I'm ok with the results, but not always. Sigh.

  2. My problem is that I commit to things and then think about how in the world I'm going to do them! So with that in mind I've almost quit joining challenges, etc. It was causing me too much stress and that isn't what it should be about.

I like the sketches you've done. I look forward to seeing your zine.

  3. Your sketches looks fun, and I can almost feel the stories. Looking forward to see what you end up doing.
I'm not much of a joiner, and if I join something it better be for one piece only.
