Would you date this guy..

I have been sketching a Picasso look alike but does not really look like the original but good practice. I just used charcoal, I think Picasso used ink.

broken promises...

Have you ever made a promise to yourself to do something and then set a date to do it and then never followed through. Its like you say your going to start a diet on monday, and monday comes and start and then you break it half way through the day and then you say well now I have broken it I quess I will start next monday. Well thats what I do I call it broken monday promises. So this monday for sure I am going to join the YMCA and start walking, swimming and using the weights no more broken promises for me.

gridlock jaw

Well thank god its Friday and a long weekend. This weekend Sunday is our 35 year anniversary. I know 35 years with the same guy what am I thinking. For 35 years its been pretty great, of course we have had out ups and downs and really downs but we manage to work it out its all about comprimise by both parties (mostly his).

Rainy Days and Thursdays always get me down..

Raining today, not the soft rain, but the full on its raining cats and dogs. So today is PJ day for me. I am staying in them all day (or until hubby gets home we have to go out for supper tonight, I dont think PJ's would fit the bill). Its going to be an art day, working on a second blue on blue canvas to join the first one. Thanks for reading

Blue on Blue Redifined...

If you have been faithfully reading my blog you will note that I put up a canvas I was working on, and I had let it sit a few days and reworked it, this is the finished version. I like it better than the first.

Flying below the radar...

Hi, I have been posting like crazy lately, I dont know when this mojo is going to give in, so better not get used to it. I have been working in my journal, this picture is one of them. I love working in my journal it gives me freedom to make mistakes and not care about them. You see the blue lines, they are from another page in my journal, and the paint was still wet and got on this picture, but I dont care. But if it was a canvas......I am way to high strung, I need to start practice to become a laid back kind of gal.

Fishing...

I worked on this last night used acrylics, string,and the newspaper, I think it came together pretty well.

Yes I am still watching the olympics and decided to create something. If you cant tell these are mini TV's the way most of us are watching the Olympics. I wish I was there, I would love to walk on the Great Wall of China what history...oh well I can watch my TV and dream

Can you smell that.....

When I was working I had no time to do anything, it was work, come home, get supper, clean up, if time some art not always(rarely) and then bed. Same routine every day. Now that I dont work, I am still as busy, how did I ever fit work into my schedule. So I have decided that I need to get off this fast train to nowhere and take some time and do things for me.....how about you.

Naked people...

I noticed that I have been doing a lot of birds and fish lately, so I decided I needed to practice a quick drawing 5 minutes or less...the more you practice the better you get. So I decided on a naked back, so I asked my daughter to pose.....the answer I cannot repeat, my husband same answer. So I used the model in a book I have that Renoir painted, I must say his drawing is much better. She looks like she has no bum....oh to look like that again.Here is the original painting....from Renoir

follow the leader......

Still in my art journal, using charcoal and the wax crayons....and water. I am working on that acrylic peice now, first coated with blue and sprayed with turpintine, with photo later to show you effect.

Moon Shadows...

I made these as a stencil, and again playing around with ideas in my sketch book. I just used charcoal on them. I am planning on using plexiglass for these birds...will show you when done.

Patterns....

Been working in my journal, and thinking about pattern and fish, and the olympics...random yes I know. And here is what I came up with. I love fish, I love to draw them, and some of the colours of the fish are fantastic. That is why my fish is so colourful. I again used my neocolours, and charcoal.

painting on cave walls

my own rendering of a painting done on cave walls found in France. I have been reading an art book on this, and decided to try my hand at it. The animals I tried to make prehistoric looking.

Goddess of the Flower Pot.

I started out with this picture to do a photo transfer which worked fine, I added stuff etc, and I did not like the direction it was taking. I was going to throw it out, when I thought to myself make something else.
And this is what I made. Hence the name Godess of the Flower Pot. On one of my favourite artchannels on Youtube, Paganart wants to trade art with people, so I thought this would be perfect for him. But now I am second guessing myself, maybe it looks to amaterish, dont be afraid to tell me, if you think it is and I wont send it....

Blue on Blue....

This is a small series I am working on for my home, various colours of blue I think the cavas is 12x16. It is not finished yet, but I have used various different things, stencils, molding paste, some tile paste, acrylics etc.

These are stencils I am working on, I just finished the butterfly, the reason it is yellow is because I used it with yellow spray paint, it took hours to cut out.

Did I have a holiday or what?

No I was not in Positano Italy, on the coast enjoying myself though I wish I was. No I was not in China partaking in the majestey of the Olmypics, though I wish I was. I was at home with hubby while he was on his holiday fixing up (landscaping the backyard, installing some needed fencing and generally just working our butts off. Now that the hubby is back to work I can start to do what I like to do NOTHING..(lol) hubby does not read my blog. Thats not true, I do lots throughout the day, with a little of this and that thrown in for good measure. Lots of late nights watching the Olympics...Now what the heck is wrong with the Canadian team still no medals. I am not sure but I think the last summer olympics we came away with no medals. Maybe they better stay in China and learn the chinese way of training they seem to be getting the medals. I have also been making stencils like a crazy person, have I used any yet, nope but plan to soon. Well enough about my life I better go back to it, I think I hear the Young and Restless calling me.

Do you believe in the power of

>Yes I believe in the power of three. That means things happen in three's. Just lately.....My fender was hit, one week later my husband front fender was hit. This morning the water heater decided to dispel no more hot water. So yes I believe.

I still use crayons do you?

I love these crayons,,,neocolour ii water soluble made in Switzerland. I colour from them are vivid, and clear...just try one and you will be hooked.

Did you know I thought myself to be a scrapbooker.How many layouts have I done 3. Yep that is it...I am not a scrapbooker. There is nothing wrong with being a scrapbooker I wish I could be but I just cant. I entered a contest at my local scrapbook store a few years ago, they gave you the paper and the theme and you were to make a scrapbook page out of it. Yep I entered, not one picture was on that layout page..of course I did not win. They must have thought who is this crazy lady that enteres this contest and thinks this is a scrapbook page. When I went in to pick it up, they all said interesting...as I crept away head down. If they had only known how long that page took me.That was the end of my scrapbooking days.

Working in the studio...

Well here it is 11 at night, just came up from the studio. Was working on a couple of travel journals, working on a commision. Yes you heard right a commision. I cant believe it myself but I am. I am doing a sample canvas for her, due to the fact that she wants a really big one and I want to make sure that this is what she wants. I think this might be my one and only, due to the fact I cant handle the pressure...weird I know but what if they dont like it. Art is so subjective, what someone has in there mind is maybe not what I see. Oh well, when the sample is done I will photo it and show you. I am employing various things in the canvas, of course different paints, molding paste, tile paste, different textures, sanding, spritzing turpintine on it to make it look like rain etc......

I am still playing in photoshop trying to learn and be able to manipulate my photos to make them look better. Meet my neice and her new hubby.....this is the orignal photo.

I wish I were here.

I was going through my pictures tonight and came across this one. I took this picture on the beach ..spanish banks. in vancouver 2 years ago. The last summer I spent with my sister before her death. Had we known what was coming..I think what would I have done differently..I would have savoured every moment with her. Made her laugh more, made her life an little easier.told her I loved her and that she was the best big sister that anyone could have had.
