HAPPY NEW YEAR ONE DAY EARLY

i wont be posting on January 1, 2013, I will be taking a day off

tonight New Years Eve, we are going out with friends for New Years (Just dinner early)

and should be home and in bed by 10:00

we never make it up on New Years to 12:00

I think its all the christmas celebrations and stuff and I am usually

exhausted by New Years eve

I have thought of a word for 2013 so will tell you on Wednesday

I hope you are all going to have a great New Years and I will

talk to you in 2013



A quiet Sunday......

this is just a little doodle I did while watching a marathon of Criminal Minds

thinking about a word for next year

no new year resolutions for me, because I never keep them

today its pj's, making home-made spaghetti sauce, a fire, and

going to try to make some stamps

this was just a little sketch I did in my everyday book while watching Criminal marathon

 rule of thumb:when picking up people at airport always check to see if the flight is on time

we did, flight was not on time

weather is just below zero so good dog walking weather

got all my stamp carving equipment together, plan on making stamps today

I am not a shopaholic, but shopping again today with the shopper, good deals after Christmas

Thursday Shopping Haul

this is my shopping haul from Thursday, I left at 10:30 and returned home at 5:00,

I planned on being about an hour, and this is all I got.

1.  This is an ornament and the box it came with, 

I gave the ornament to my daughter and kept the box

its by my favourite Pappaya (I think I spelled that wrong)

I never gave her the box

2. Marker brush pens, and white out from my

favourite scrap-booking store

3.  Non stick craft sheet from Ranger, got this at Michaels, I like it

because its wipes off so easy, I have a small one

4. Baltzer design stencil, do you use stencils in your art I love to

5.  A little paint palette

6.  Some vintage paper

7.  Trying some new paint called Amsterdam acrylic paint, new for one but way cheaper

than Golden

8.  Some Carve and some white erasers to make stamps

9.  Some black leather mittens, with places for your fingers inside, love them had to have them

10.  Some Heidi swap vintage looking paper to cover some  file folders for the shopper

11.  Some Tortilla pans, (as seen on TV) to bake your 

torillas instead of frying them, the shopper got some, so I had to have some

so there it is Thursday shopping day, now today, I am running out to get some new

sheets that are on sale for the shopper since she has to work, and if I like them

might pick some up as well.  Then hubby and I are going out for dinner then to

the airport to pick up friends.

I am christmsed out....

either I am coming down with something, or I am christmsed out

because I feel like I am have been hit with a bull dozer

but I had a great christmas, great presents, great food

great gift certificates to my favourite art stores

Christmas Book

This is a Christmas book I made a while back I think last year
I keep my Christmas cards in it
Since Christmas Cards will be soon a thing of the past
I  am going to use it for  something else
I have decided to take a Christmas Break
because my riveting conversation on this blog
is even boring me, nothing is happening in my
life so I need to take break and do something
so I can talk about it.  I might check back here
once and awhile, with updates, so don't forget

My dirty little secret

I am going to tell you my dirty little secret

get ready

I eat frozen Christmas baking right out of the freezer

  it is true

this girl who is trying to lose weight

eats the baking frozen

so 

I brought it out of the freezer what was left....

packaged it all up 

and gave it to the shopper

to take to her pot luck

told hubby no  more baking in this house

until Christmas and then only Christmas cake

I don't want to gain back what i have lost

and I obviously can't leave it alone

it all started with this background the blue and white

I cant remember making it so it might be scrapbook paper it has great texture to it

any way I decided it looked like a snowy day

added a tree

some stars(they are my versions of stars)  

and I had some painted fabric, cut it into this   shape

used my sewing machine to add some crazy pattern

added some horns and here we go 

just call him ed

 

tonight its a Costco run with the shopper

dinner out and catch up with her

and apparently she needs some mall therapy

so a little shopping is in store

I totally forgot that I signed up for an on-line class that starts today

Its a Christmas Ornament class by Christy Tomlimson   and other

artists

its good for a year

not all them strike my fancy but some do

but as I said before I am not going to bust my butt getting them done

Crazy at this time of year

every year I make myself crazy with Christmas

every year I usually have the heavy stuff done, like shopping, wrapping etc

so how can I be crazy when all that is done

because every year I think I have to make a hundred things

I see something and think I should make that

I don't think that any other time of the year,.

before art became my obsession , I was a 

crafter, I loved to craft, but I find much more

satisfaction from art.  So I have decided that I will not

make anything else this year Christmas themed.  Maybe

a few little drawings, that I would do anyway.

I did make that wreath, and a little Christmas canvas

but that is it.  What makes you crazy at Christmas?

Snow Day

today its cold and snowy

good day for staying in PJ's

turning on the fire (gas)

hot chocolate

and putting up the Christmas Tree

the countdown begins

today we are going to see the Wrigley Mansion

(in honour  of this, I am going to pop in a little piece of gum in my mouth)

today its cloudy,

 in all my years I have come here I have never seen a cloud, it's windy as well,

but its still 65 degrees, and at home its below zero and snowing, so you guess which one I

would rather be at

I keep rubbing it in to hubby  over the phone especially when he has the snow blower out

tuesday morning was okay not what I expected

saw the new flick with my man Denzil loved it

dinner at the cheesecake ate oft the skinnydelicious menu

turkey burger and salad , so good and under 560 calories

Friends....

have I told you that the friends i am going to Phoenix with

I have been friends with for at 36 years.  Some friends come and go in your life, and some friends just stick. We are the kind of friends that even if we didn't see each other for a long time, it would be like we just saw each other yesterday.  We go away every year together, and we have a blast.  We all are very laid back and  just go along with the flow.  We talk non stop about everything under the sun, I am sure the TV  never goes on.  We all like the same things, we all love to read, we love to shop, go to different restaurants  have a few good drinks and we all love relax.  I cherish these friends. Everyone needs to have a friend or friends like this in their life, I hope you do.

deciding what to pack for art supplies

deciding what I will do for art when I am there

deciding on shoe wear, most important

deciding on to carry on or not

There is going to old old art on here, for the next 12 days as I will be away in Phoenix  so some of you will never have seen it, and some of you might remember it , but come back and see how I have progressed as the years passed by.

Well happy Halloween to you all.  We don't get very many kids to our door.  For a couple of reasons, we live almost at the end of a street then a ravine, so kids don't feel its worth there while to go down a street with 5 houses on it, and then have to walk back to go to another street.  The second, it too damn cold here to go out.  But the hardy put on there costumes and there parkas and make sure they get there candy limit.  We are giving out bags of chips , and little chocolate bars/

Another journal page, I have always wanted to do yoga. But I think I would find

it difficult because if i was able to lift my leg up, and that's a big if, you would have to call the ambulance,

because I wouldn't be able to walk again.  I would be stuck in the upward dog forever.
