This is what I started with a blank envelope. I knew right away I wanted to do Venice The picture is mine taken out of my hotel window.. which happened to be right on the canal.... I wanted it to look like you were looking at a really old postcard , or looking through something and really seeing Venice years ago. My picture was in colour, I then made it black and white, and then lightly coloured in with chalk.... Hope you like..if not maybe next time.<
What a lovely blog..... & for hotels, love the services of Intercontinental.

ReplyDeleteyes, this is really stunning...how do you think of these wonderful things? it really makes me think of an ancient venice or like looking thru a camera lens back intime. Just lovely!!
ReplyDeleteLee your work is so unique - I love it! And great job on achieving the look you were going for. When I first looked at this I thought you had used a vintage postcard, then I read your post and saw that was what you were going for!

What an incredible artist you are! Amazing drawing!
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap, LEE! gorgeous ... the view, the way you've captured it. When we stayed in Venice, our hotel was on a very small, quiet canal and each morning we could look out our window and see a father helping his little girl (complete with backpack) into the boat to take her to school. I'll NEVER forget that! Spectacular idea, too, to use the chalk.
