These are the tools that I use for bookbinding. OK I haven't really used these yet, but I am ready just in case. What is holding me back, I don't know I wish I did, I watch all the videos, I am sure I could do it, I have the paper all ready to be sewn. Do you think i have a bookbinding phobia (lol).
I do the same thing. I have all the bookbinding supplies and they sit on a shelf gathering dust. Maybe we should inspire each other to get busy!
ReplyDeletePersonally I think it is more about starting... just do it girl, you can do it :)

I think once you get going it will be ok its like starting a new empty journal, fine once you do the first page! your next post will be all about the finished book! now go....!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo, I think you're just waiting for the right moment. It's fun and addictive, so when you first do it you can't stop making just one book. Good Luck and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYOu will start when you are ready. Now get on with it as we are all waiting to see your progress. Think about doing it for us like the royal taster. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteYou will be fine, Lee. It's just the scarey feeling of trying something new...I've been there:)

Hi Lee...I understand your phobia. I have bound a few books but I usually take the easy way out and use old books or buy something to use for my journals. You might try the pamphlet stitch to get you warmed up...that's the easiest one for me! But whatever you do...I bet you will be amazed at what you can do!

I have tried making my own and it is fun and easy once you do it- find an easy one to start with not copic binding to start- there are a bunch on youtube-
ReplyDeleteMake a "throw away" one first. I mean, from the beginning you'll know that it doesn't have to be perfect. Use cheap paper, etc. Just for practice. I bet you're like me and you want any time investment to "count", but it does...it's practice!
