Frida and La policía

 

 

Frida went home after church, and what did she find?

Diego playing house with the La policía  wife.

Frida promptly phoned La policía and reported a

burglary at Diego house, and sat down at her

easel and started to paint, and waited until for all hell broke loss.

its all about the boy who loves the girl

Happy Anniversary to the Boy.....

There once was a girl who met a boy. Who married the boy at age 20 and 21. Who have a good life for 16 years then along comes a little baby who makes the boy and girls life even better. Then the little girl grows up and makes her own way in life. Leaving the boy and girl by themselves again, but there love for each other is enduring thru the good and the bad, and has lasted 41 years and hopefully will go for many more. Happy Anniversary to the man who will always remain in my  heart   the boy....who loves the girl......

Diego and Frida both woke up

with bad hangovers, she

decided she needed to confess her

sins, he decided he needed another

drink.....

Frida has a date night.....

 

well its date night for Frida and Diego, they

usually go to Pablos  for a few cerveza and a  few
dances.  Tonight Diego and Frida had a
few too many , and Frida found him under
the table.  

The middle of the week Blahs?

today its a movie with a friend

some calorie laden popcorn which is the best,

and  lots of laughing and catching up , so what's

on your Wednesday?



Its a simple life....

 

 

I live a simple life, I always have, I was never

a big party girl, one who had to go out

every night when I was younger.  I was

always content to stay home.  I always loved

to read, and draw, and could keep myself

amused for hours, my sister was completely

opposite of me, she had a different boyfriend

every week, and went out all the time.  When

I grew up, I remained the same, just content

to live my life .  Is it always good to be

content, I have to answer truthfully

no,.  That's the trouble, I  find it extremely

uncomfortable to go out of my safety zone, especially

in my art, but when you are an artist you need to take

chances, you need to sell yourself and your art, so

I need to think big, and live a big life now and then.

Money was always tight with Frida ,and Diego was

a cheapskate  when it came to Fridas art, ( he always had a jealously streak)

so when she didn't have any money to pay

for someone to model for her  , she resorted

to her painting her own self portraits.

One Trick Pony

 

 

This is my version of Picasso "Sleeping Woman"

while taking a break away from Frida last

night I decided to stretch myself and draw

something from the Masters, and this is what came up.

Sometimes I find when I get my inner talking voice

telling me I am a one trick pony, I have to do

something to prove I can do other things, even

if its a bad rendition of a Picasso

today I was out all day   having lunch,

shopping for new runners, and new pj's and

what ever else I could find.  So no time

for arting up Frida, but I did have this

in your face flower picture done

and all I used was markers.....I happen

to love the way markers make everything

stand out.

Frida has the blues...

 

One more Frida to go, then I am done with her.  You are probably

all saying yeah Frida would be quaking in her grave if she

saw these portraits.  Though I must say I always thought

in my mind that Frida was a very serious painter who

never smiled, because Diego was a dud in the sack.

Meet Frida 2, tonight she off on a date with Diego so she wearing her pearls,

she never smiles, because she needs dental work.  That's my story and

I am sticking to it.

I admit this looks nothing like Frida,

this Frida has a bit of a chubby cheek look

the scanner makes the skin looks awful

and she looks like she doesn't want her picture painted

this is Frida 1 stay tuned I have more Fridas to come

today I am working on a portrait on Frida mustache and all

for a challenge taking a break from collage for today

Looking Back

 

This is an really early collage that I did,  I cant

remember how long ago.  I put in a journal

that I was working on, and came across it

today.  I love looking back at how I have

progressed, do you every do that?

First came the head and she

morphed into this girl without a face

which by the way I am leaving

I have 4 different collages which

are all going to be girls with

different hairstyles.these are

all 6x6.  What do you think should

I leave her face blank, or put one

in, now that I look at her and rethink it.

Painting, cooking and the sun

 

another bird in the series, everything is collaged

except the ground and the sky, the ground

I put on some molding paste and went

with the pan pastels for colour

the sky is paint, it looks to flat to me

so I am going to do some white paint circle things. And the

feet need to be black and I forgot to paint the beck

just got some rhubarb from the neighbour

going to make some rhubarb coffee cake

and muffins, do some on my series

its beautiful out hot sunny, and I might do the art on the deck

cant waste this beautiful weather.

The Bird Series

 

I am back, but will be hit and miss until September when things

get back to normal, and summer is over, September things

change fast where I live.

I thought I would show you one of the pieces I have

been working on in series, I have about 4 birds series

canvas, all collaged with my homemade paper, and the background

on this one is pan pastel.

I have a head series, with about 5 , one which I will show you

on Tuesday

and One series with is about 8x 11 its a mish mash

I found I like working this way.  I love collaging

though it takes a huge amount of time. Okay

I want honest opinions here, if you think it looks

amertarish I want you to say so, don't pretty it all up, to babyish tell me,

I am not quite finished with these yet.  I would like to know do

you think I should have painted the background on this one,

Okay I expect some feedback bad or good

I am putting on my big girl panties and waiting for it.

I have been so enjoying my holiday, but am missing my blog

my god do I have a fever, I told you its a love hate relationship.

I have been enjoying the beautiful weather

I have been collaging, and painting and drawing up a storm

so lots to show you when I come back

I have been researching about selling my art online

any suggestions, how to, what not to do.

Its a holiday in Canada tomorrow\
