Mixed Media Monday-Paint

This is a piece I did a couple of weeks ago with paint and chalk. I was playing around in the studio and thought of how much I like Spring and here it is.

Inspiration Thursday-Medical

To be honest I was not going to do this challenge. I thought what would I do as the term "Medical" really is an unusual topic. My mother gave me a really old medical journal that her mother had given her, really a reference guide. Way back they were more concerned about posture, etc being a good woman,exercises as a way to relieve cramps etc. They did not dwell on the reality of death. A whole chapter devoted to how to care for a new infant. So here is my collage to the term Medical.

Illustration Friday-Wrinkles

Okay when I thought about illustration friday and saw the topic was wrinkles who immediately came to mind was Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, that man has some serious wrinkles going on. While since I am not great at drawing people that actually look like them. My next thought was the "Walrus" they not only have a major weight problem they also have alot of wrinkles. And then i find out I am not really that great at drawing a Walrus. I hope you can tell what it is>>> So here is my rendition of the Wrinkle theme, an Ode to the Walrus.

Inspiration Thursday-Reduce Reuse, Recyle

I wanted to do a art piece for Inspire me Thursday as well as Earth Day, so here is my Hope. Made from a peice of found wood in a thrift store...and the message is there is Hope for the world.

Tag Your It.....

The object of this challenge was to create a tag without using stamps. I found an old manila tag laying around, and used stamp ink,,,as a paint and painted the background. I then used a punch to cut out the decorations, a transparency and drew the flower in the middle. Plain but I like it.

Look Up Look Way Up......

I made this for a challenge using tags.....today its about polka dots...I was going to make the giraffe out of polka dot paper but just could not.I used markers on my hand drawn giraffe, the markers covered her pretty good So I used polka dots on the tag and the ribbon hopes that works for the challenge

Suddenly you see....

I heard this song on the radio, and some of the lyrics are "her face is a map of the world" and I loved it. I thought it would make a great art journal page and here it is...hope you all like it

Dreams

Well i decided to work in my art journal tonight. I have been dreaming of late in colour is that weird or does everyone dream in colour. Now I have been having the same dream over and over again, I think that means something, maybe I should consult a dream book. Anyway hope you all had a great weekend and here to a great Monday.

Inspiration Thursday and Illustration Friday-She Failed to Deliver

I decided to combine Inspiration Thursday and Illustration Friday as one today and it works. A girls gotta save time when she can. For Inspiration Thursday, it was envelopes (mail art) now I could have gone the traditional route with lots of stuff all over the envelope etc. But immediately I thought of mail and a carrier pigeon, now thats how my mind works. For Illustration Friday it is FAIL. Now note who the letter is to, so you know she is going to fail to deliver the goods, because who knows where this guy is at any given time. So hope you like the two, if not lets try again next week.

Illustration Friday- Save

did this for Illustration Friday, when I saw it was the word Save, I immediately thought of this song, and it has been in my head since then.....help

street team-stencils

Alright this was my attempt at stemcils, I like it. The results will get better with more practice with the tool. and maybe getting spray paint which I am going to get tommorow. Stay tuned for more stencils much better than these (these need alot of help)

This and that....

Well here it is Sunday night, I have had a busy weekend, with very little time for art but that will change. These flowers are from my 3 friends I have had for about 35 years. I got them Friday as that was the day of my offical last day of work, though I have not worked since December. I am retired....and I feel a great weight has been lifted off me.
Not only have I retired by my 19 year old daughter finally took driving lessons and got her liscence, along with a car that she bought herself. My life will be changed no more driving her..... I feel like a new woman. Dont ask me why she wanted so long to drive, probably because I did it all for her, both she and I have our independance now......So I was going to cut some stencils out with my burning tool. But thought better of it as I did not want to wake hubby up with the smoke alarm going off and give him a heart attack. Our smoke detetcor goes off with the iron smoke. Well its late better go, going to creat tommorow so come on back and see some art...

Theme Thursday -Orange and Black

Loved doing this one, the elephant is black and grey...I thought of India and the colours and they also use alot of orange, black and pink. Hope you enjoy it.

I was thinking about what song to use for this and was going to use by John Lennon "Give Peace a Chance". But I was listening to Jan Arden in the car and she did a remake of Peace Train by Cat Stevens and I loved it.
