Its me again....

Do you know who sang that song?  Think about it?  It might be before your time, but definitely not in the dark ages...Do you want to know, not really you say, to bad its my blog and I get to do anything.  It is by the Sister Sledge, if you haven't heard it before go to
and be amazed.  I used to sing this around the house all the time.  Yes I am a singer, at the top of my lungs, when nobody is home but me and devil dog...I am sure she appreciates my singing she usually leaves the room. I had been thinking about my sisters and then the song and then put it in my visual art journal.  Don't you love how my Brain works (lol)

Well today is Monday...don't you hate Mondays I do and I don't work, whats that about, a leftover from my working days, when you had the rest of the week to work before the weekend.
Well the weather is still crappy, so no suntanning on the deck today.  Not that I do the neighbours took up a petition and asked that I please do not appear on the deck with that string bikini anymore.  Now that was a joke this body will never see a string bikini.  Well enough of this nonsenses, go out into the world and do something today, spend some money, help the economy.  I think that is exactly what I will do today....Report back what did you buy....

Where has my life gone

This used to say 2009 but I recycled this little dittie to say 2010.  Because where has my life gone.  It seems to be flying by.  I thought when I quit work I would be a lady of leisure and be able to work in the studio all day or whenever I want.  But who was going to clean the house, wash the clothes, and make the dinner.  So in order to facilitate more time for me....I hired a cleaning lady.  Now I have had many cleaning ladies in my life when I was working.  So there was a wee bit of  guilt associated with this hiring as I am not working but hubby was okay with it because I have no me time lately, with my mother being ill and in the hospital and me going every day, things that I used to do got left behind.  So I have her here working today, what a hard worker, she is doing stuff that needs to be done and I have not got to.  So I am only going to get her once a month, because I can keep up with the daily stuff, but the big stuff that I like to be done will be done by her.  Today I am home, but I don't need to be, My mother in law has her as a cleaner and she is honest and hard working.  So hubby has been away a couple of days this week out of town on business, so I have been watching TV the finals of a bunch of shows.  I watched American Idol, finale and I liked Lee so I am glad he won.  I watched the finale of Two and A half men, I get a laugh out that show, even if I don't like Charlie Sheen.  Well enough of this dribble drabble what have you been doing with your life.

Dreaming about travel

I went to Arizona last year with my friends.  One my friends has a house there.l  Lucky to have such a good friend.  Anyway I decided to take a travel journal with me.  I went to the dollar store
and bought a little book.  Took some pencils and some markers and water crayons, glue,
and she had scissors there.  Before I left I glued a few things in and stamped a few images.
So every morning we sat around in our PJ's outside and gabbed and had coffee, and breakfast and planned the day, and enjoyed the sun, after all it was October back home and I can tell
you in October where we live you don't sit around in your PJ's outside.  And anyway back
to the story that is when I would work in my journal.  My friends do not do art of any kind, but put up with me, buy they would look through magazines and cut stuff out they think would look nice in the travel journal.  So I had a fun time creating this journal, and just about filled it all up.
So next time you go away don't stress about what to put in your travel journal, I have pictures I have created, I have magazines cutouts, tickets, menus, etc.

Some say Tomato some say Tamato

This was created agees ago I think for Inspiration Thursday.  This ala Andy Warhol.  I drew the can, then I think I used watercolours on it.  When you look back on your old work, you always see something that you could have done better.  Take the lettering, I could have done that better, brighter colour.  Now some news for MONDAY, May 24/2010 dont miss my post, its top secret and I cant tell you till Monday.  But Janet are cooking up something together and its going to be fun.  So be here on Monday or at Janets site.

Are you Free...

Are you free, free of debt, free of work obligations, free of bad relationships.
Just last week a young man won 45 million dollars in the Canadian Lottery.  It
got me thinking.  What would I do with all that money, of course the usual
things, charity, family etc.  But you would still have a whack of money
left.  It would change your life, but would it change you.  Would you
still do the things that you love to do?  Would you still have a
purpose to get up every day? Life is all about purpose?  I really
don't know, would I still make art?  What would you do?

Questions to Ponder

Life in an emergency ward
  1.  why does every man think that since they are in a hospital that every woman there would like to see what god gave them a shortage of
  2. Why does the parking cost more than a good dinner out.  Don't they want people to visit the patients .
  3. Why do nurses automatically assume since your there you are nurse material, and you can do some of the icky jobs they don't like to do.
  4. Why do random drug addicts wander the wards in their dirty underwear searching for the bathrooms unescorted.
  5. Why do they have to gown up and put a mask and gloves on to keep themselves from infection but let the visitors go in without them.
  6. Why do you go into a hospital which is suppose to a super clean environment and come up hurrying home to take a shower
Questions to ponder on a Sunday

Friday Night Highlights and lowlights

Last night had to take my Mother to emergency, they
are admitting her (thats a whole other story)
While waiting, and waiting, and waiting, I decided I
needed to draw something, or get up and slap the drunk
that was annoying the hell out of everyone.  So I thought
sketching would be safest.  The only thing my
muddled brain could think of  sketching was a half eaten
apple that was sitting on the table that somebody\
had not thrown away.  So thats it for art today I am
off to the hospital again.  Talk to you soon.

The Kat is Back....

Another Silly Creature from Silly Class.  This
time she showed a regular picture of a cat, and you were to draw it with
one line.  So that is what mine turned out like.  I then added some
Washable oil pastels, and words and sharpies and I made
mine a postcard.   Other than that I received some
great mail yesterday and will be showing on
Fridays Show and Tell blog entry.
So see you then.

Being Silly

I decided awhile ago I needed to lighten up, have fun in my art
so I joined a class by
it was all about being silly.  Just having fun in your art.
While I did this one awhile ago.  It was done on
one of my spray painted backgrounds.  It was
just line art.  But when I looked at it.  I did
not like the way it looked, kind of pale
and understated.  So I put it to the side.
I found it again yesterday and re-worked it.  Changed
all the background, add more definition to
my giraffe (but its suppose to be silly and be
whatever you want it to be)  and I now like the
way it turned out.  Only one problem, in this
class you are suppose to just draw it and leave it.
Do you suppose they is a class for an person who has keep
fiddling with their art.

Experimental Art

morphed into the lady
I love the artist that draws long necked woman
(help me out here what is his name
I have been raking my brain)
so decided to give it a try

Do you believe

In the Power of Positive Thinking:

Well I am kind of an old school girl, I try my best to be young, hip
and with the new trends.  But really I can't get my mind wrapped
around all that new age crap.  I know to some of you it is
not crap, and I am sorry if I offend you.  I wish I had a muse
or a Wicca friend, or an aura that hangs around me and
gives me great ideas, but it just does not happen to me.
But I do believe in the power of positive thinking.  Okay
maybe it does not all come true, but I think you have
to have a positive outlook on life.  What do you think?  Do you have a muse,
or guru, tell me, honestly I want to know.

The Good bad and the ugly

Happy mothers day to you

Well lets do the Good first"
My mother finally after 6 weeks in the hospital got to go home today
and is finally on the mend, Just like her oldself almost.  A few
days at home and she just like new.

The BAD:
The hubby decided today was the day to do the windows.  As
I was going out the door, I said stay off the ladder and wait
until I come home from the hospital (picking up my
mom to bring her home) and then I will help you.
This was at 10:30 am, well after all I had to
do today I did not get home till 4:30.  I did not even
phone him I was so busy.  So as I walk up the
driveway, I see a trail of blood,.open the garage door
and walk into the garage, blood up to the stairway.
I open the door Devil Dog comes to meet me, not
to happy.  I call out for the handyman.  Go upstairs
there he is his face all bloody, I think his nose is
broken, and he cant walk on his foot its sprained.
Apparently he fell of the ladder, the neighbours had to
call the ambulance.  They checked him over, applied
a few bandages and said he was good to go.  He
will be sore as hell for a few days.

Now the UGLY ME:
He fell off the same ladder two years ago. He is no handy man
I was going to hire someone to clean the windows.  But
know he has to almost kill himself to get the job done,
by the way which is not done.  Now I have two
patients to look after him and my mom.  My
neighbour who called the ambulance two years
ago suggested I hide the ladder.

Well I am glad he is okay, but when he is better he will never
live this down I promise you that.

What interesting things happened to you this weekend.

Taking time to smell the coffee beans or in my case diet coke

Today I took time for me I needed it.  I was basically feeling sorry for myself.  You know the usual, nobody loves me, all I do is for others and who does for me.  I am sure you all have had those days.  So I decide I need stop and have a cold drink and read my magazine.  So I go into second cup (a coffee place like Starbucks)but attached to this place is a bagel place as well.  So I go get a diet coke from the bagel place and decide I need a couple thousand calories and have a cookie from the second cup.  Well all the good seats are gone, you know the comfy ones, the armchairs.  So I sit down at a table, bring out my new Somerset Studio, drink my diet coke and eat the cookie.  Well I proceed to look around, and see this girl (young woman) sitting there having a drink of coffee smiling.  The whole time she sat there is smiled.  I thought to myself Lee what the hell, when was the last time you just sat and smiled.  The more I looked at her the better I felt.  Just then she got up from her comfy chair and asked the lady who was reading her book and drinking her coffee in the cheap seats if she wanted to sit by the window.  I almost got up and hugged her......things like that make my day.  And I felt myself smiling the rest of the day.
