Inspiration Thursday-Becoming Picasso-Diary entry

This is my take on this week’s theme Diary. I did get a diary at the age of 13, but do I still have it, no. Those things did actually happen, so this is probably what I would have written in my diary at that time. I was very faithful about writing in it. It had one of those locks with the little key and I used to wear it around my neck, and hide the diary under my bed. And yes I did want to be a nun, and I am not even Catholic but then I found two things that changed my mind boys and art in that order.

A few months ago I did receive a grown up diary (journal) as a present from my friend.
I do write in it, I keep it beside my bed. When I have had an upsetting day I write in it
And relieve my frustrations and it makes me feel better. When I have something that I want to remember, I write in it. I think just the writing of your thoughts and feelings are important. I will keep it this time, and look back in 20 years and see what I thought was important to me.

  4. Hah! This is great! I also had one of those diaries with the little key, and I did go through the phase of wanting to be a nun. Perhaps it was because i went to Catholic school and was surrounded by them... most were very mean and I must have thought if i can't beat 'em, I might as well join 'em! Anyway, that phase passed rather quickly. Thanks for sharing this... it's such fun to learn about people's stories:>

  5. I never wanted to be a nun...

I like your diary page. I've not kept any of my diaries from my youth either, they would make me cringe too much

  6. Very cool. I love the side-by-side Picasso sketches. Very fun idea. If I had to choose between being Picasso and being a nun, I would have a very easy decision...including the blue period, too!

  7. This is a lot of fun. I kept one or two of my journals from childhood and got rid of the rest. So far I haven't regretted it....

  10. I like seeing the whole page like this. There's something grounding about seeing hand drawn and hand writing words in such a technological age that is grounding or a "draw" :) no pun intended.

  11. I love this post! You reminded me of being terrified of the nun who taught my catechism class when I was about 5 years old. Thinking back on it, it must have been her habit, which looked very frightening on such a tall woman.

  12. You WONDERFUL and CREATIVE post brought me back to memories I haven't thought about in 100 years!
Mine was dark green with gold edged pages...I felt very mysterious and grown up when I wrote in it. I've been trying to remember where I hid the key! Will ponder on...loved your drawings of Picasso goddess women! So glad you decided on ART instead of being a nun!

  13. that is funny you wanted to be a NUN & you weren't catholic. i never wanted to be nun, but i did have plenty of those diaries with the key & lock & i did wear the key around my neck. my little brother famously tried to remove the key while i was sleeping (i was about 9, & he was 7) once and spilled apple juice all over me & my bed...why he didn't put the apple juice down before he tried to remove the necklace from my neck escapes me.
