...I started to rework this picture today...I orignally pictured it like cave art. But it was to bright and so I dirtied (is there such a word) up with shoe polish. I dont know if I am finished yet....what do you think?
Motivation or not, I really like the piece. Lovely. With all that's going on in the world it is so hard to find a little sunshine but this piece is truly beautiful. Have a great day.
I like the way you revisit your works and redo them, this one looks great.... when you do redo a peice I think it actaully takes on a new life of its own and becomes another new peice in its own right! I have never thought of doing this!
Seems like everyone has been having a touch of this one way or the other...myself included! But the texture you have created in this piece is amazing!!....is that oil paint??
HI Lee, send you some cheer up and sunhine over. I have that feeling sometimes too and I don't really like it, but I know it's a time to recharge and after, the creativity the action will follow. Well, if you have the same grey cold wet weather no wonder motivation is low....has the same effect on me....can't wait for spring.....smiles, Anke ;)
Oh, Lee! I'm still entrenched in my love affair with the journals of Peter Beard, and this is so very evocative of those, but MORE so it makes me think of scenes from the movie The English Patient, which I consider to be HIGH ART and is one of my favorite films ...
Lee -- just got your comment -- I have NOT purchased the Peter Beard journals, can't afford them (yet) ... but I did buy a used copy of a Sundance documentary DVD about him, which is what I keep going back to and slobbering over.
I really love it. When I paint, I always seem to end up painting the moon into the picture somewhere, so it's great to see other people's versions of it too. I would put this on my wall at home.
