Saturday Daze

 

Today the weather was fantastic, the snow is just about gone.  Probably one more snow before its really gone for good.  The above little ditty was done on a napkin I had, drew the elephant and painted add a piece of striped cardboard I had and called it a day.

This is an old one , because its throwback Saturday.

Today I am off to pick up some new clothes I bought, but didn't bring

home because today they are an additional 40 percent off, so a girl

has to save some money.  I used to love shopping, but not so much any more

I would rather spend money on stuff I don't need, art supplies.  Anyway I needed

these things so I did the work and got the clothes.  I am meeting the shopper for lunch and a little more shopping then home.  I love Saturdays when its do whatever you feel like doing.

Sometimes I just like to create silly art. I was watching jimmy Fallon and just fooling around and this what came out.

Today I am going to put some paint on my 100 project got all the papers ready which really is the big job. I had to get them ready first or I know I would not finish the project.

Friends and stuff.....

 

 

This is the page that I made at the art journal class yesterday.  Everybody

makes the same page, but I made my different they had butterflies and

I am not a butterfly girl.  Today its out to lunch with my neighbour we

are quite good friends.  We only really met about 3 years ago, and they

have lived there for about 7 years.  We always said hi, bye etc, but

that was it.  But she started walking her dog when I walked mine

and friends we became. I have met more people in my neighbourhood from walking the dog. The weather is going to be beautiful on

Friday can hardly wait, although we still have snow from a

recent snowfall, it has been great.  All the shorts come out

(NO NOT ME) but the rest of the city, even if there is still

snow on the ground, the nice weather period is short here

so you gotta grab it when you can.

 do you make excuses for yourself when you do your art.  I do I  will go down to the studio with great intentions of creating art, and I wont do it, I will clean up, or sit there, or go thru some old papers  , but I wont do any art.  Then I will be mad at myself for not following thru on my plan.  Here is gem  that I found on this great website about creativity http://www.createintandem.com/

that sound about right to me.  I think I have the fear of failure when creating, the fear
that when its finished it wont be good enough.  But really good enough for who, do
I have such high expectations of myself , I have to learn to just let it go, and just create.
Because truthfully I have to create every day, I cant explain it, but I think about art every day.  Do you?

Birth of an Idea

 

This started as a huge piece of poster board, that

was on my table when I took a course.  So they were

going to throw it out, so I took my painting home on it.

I then cut it up into 6x6 pieces and some smaller.  So

when looking at the paint that was left on it, wondering

what I was going to do with it, I saw the start of a flower,

and this is what came out.  I added a little more paint

to the background, but not much.  I love this one,

it just flowed for me.

 

Do you ever have those days when the art gods just smile down at you?

Playing dress up

 

I know your properly wondering what kind of animal this is

well it started out like a bunny and then didn't work

so I made it a cat, I know you don't know any cats that look like this

but you never know when you going to run into one.

Anyway thanks for the well wishes for my birthday.  I had

a great day, got lots of great presents, and had a wonderful

meal with all my favourite people.

 

I have been organizing my pinterest making new folders moving

stuff where it logically should be, and easier for me to look at.

I am telling its like addictive, so much great art out there.

I am not much into instagram, because I don't understand it,

I must be old.  I am thinking its like facebook but different, if

you can explain it I would be glad to hear.

Ok its late at night, and I am going to go and enjoy what's left of it

I had a bad day.....but not today

I know not my usual in your face full of color art

but I like this one, because somedays even

a angel has a bad day. 
 

But I am not having a bad day, because today is my birthday

yeah just turning 32 have remained that age for a number

of years now.  Going out for dinner en mass family,

having cake at home, and today just enjoying my

day and spending some birthday money.

To selfie or not.

On thing I not into is, taking a selfie, because I hate having my picture

taken, it shows every double chin I have.  It add 10 pounds (that's my story and I am

sticking to it).  I am not one of those people who when you go lets take your  picture,

who will  make a huge fuss out of it, I just smile and make the best of it.  But I

don't go out of my way to get my picture taken.  Do you like

getting your picture taken?

Simplify

 

I have been loving using my stabilo pencil.  I just found them at my art store.  They work wonderful with water, I used them on the lady, and shaded.  Just signed

up the shopper and I to  Friday the 20th to a paint party, at my Scrapbook

store.  There all the rage here, usually its in a Lounge with drinks, and appetizers.  But they are bringing in the lady on Friday Night and having wine and stuff, and you

paint a canvas pretty reasonable 38.00.  And I get to bond with the shopper (lol).
Where you live do you have a time change.  We do, so we put our clocks, ahead
an hour, so nice because now its not dark till about 8.00 and you can walk
the dog in the light.  In the summer its doesn't really get dark till about 11:00.

Ok gotta go, tell me your favourite new art supply that you love.
