Now I dont claim to be the best baker in the world, as most of friends can atest to. But I did bake both of these things and they turned out delicious.
I find sugar cookies really hard to bake, this recipe was easy and fast and good.
Now the fruitcake came out of a magazine I have (life 1953)-makes a big batch of fruit cakes. Cant tell you how they taste yet as you have to store them in the back of a closet for at least 3 weeks.
Love looking through these pages, Lee...I didn't know that a fruit cake required so long of a "sitting" time..I wonder why. Let me know how it turns out :)

Lol - love the way you have written across santas moustache! Some of the best cakes like plum pudding etc are all kept in cupboards for a long time before christmas and topped up with brandy etc... I'm not a huge cookie baker just the odd batch now and then when the mood strikes.
