You know I thought I had created all the index cards for the month of June, but it turns out I am
missing a month.  I am going to try and create another weeks worth.  I will have to see how my
life goes in the next week.  Since I have been gone on vacation for over a week, I have a lot of
stuff that needs to be caught up on.  Hubby needs some attention, my dog need attention, and I need to get back on my diet.  I had a really good time on my vacation, we had nice weather, and I got a little bit of a tan, but not enough for me to wear that new dress for the wedding, so I am going to
either get a spray tan, or go tanning.  I know its not great for your skin, but I am looking whiter than white bread, and I am wearing bare legs, so a tan is a necessity.

A Green What an update from the Road

well I am in Salt spring Island now, just got back to the hotel from Dinner.  Our balcony looks out onto the ocean, its nice to sit out with a glass of wine, and enjoy the sights, and the nice weather.

 

this is one of the ferries that took us to the Island, it takes 1 1/2 from Vancouver to Naniamo,

and 1/2 from Naniamo to Salt Spring.  Got to our room, and then went and wandered around the town.  The town wraps up around 5:30 and then its just places for dinner that are open.

Tommorow we are going to the Market, its full of wonderful crafts, and art.  So I am looking forward to that. 

Been working on my journal well on my trip, so will show it when I get back.

well we reached one of our destinations, my friends house in the Shuswap

we arrived here around 2:30, its a beautiful day and this is the view from her window

 

 

we are here for two more days before we get on the road again, this time

  Her husband is out of town so its girls only.  We have already had happy hour and a leisurely dinner.  Having a great time, will check in later

color and trip updates

 

well by the time you read this

I will be on the road to the rocky mountains

no not singing the John Denver tune Rocky mountain High

Our first stop will be just outside of Calgary , Alberta

to a New shopping centre we both have wanted to visit

then its on to Canmore for the night,

this is where we will be staying

 

 

 

its just a hop skip and jump from Banff, Alberta, where the rocky mountains start

then we drive thru the rocky mountains, thru Golden, Revelstoke, and Salmon Arm

then we stop in Sorrento

 

 

 

 

Then we will be on the road again to Whistler, BC

home of the winter Olympics.  So if you don't know

Whistler is just a spit from Vancouver.  I have lived

in Vancouver and attended grade 11, and 12 there.  My

mom and dads family all lived in Vancouver, so Vancouver

is like home to me.  Its a very beautiful city right on the ocean

it reminds me a lot of San Fransciso.

okay I have to admit it, this might be my favourite creature that I have ever drawn

I love the nose, and look at those white teeth, he looks like he might be fun to

hang out with.

paper towel painting index card

the background glued to the index card was a paper towel,that I had left on my art table and cleaned the brush on, and they I just drew the flower with sharpie, I did  add a little green to the leaves, but
other than that, it was just paint on the paper towel.

I have been trying to make some collages, 3 to be exact for my pen pal, that is what is on the course agenda for this month, collages of everyday life.  So when I get them done, you will see them.

Today it was a cooked chicken from Safeway, cottage cheese and tomatoes, being off my diet lately, so I am back on, want that new dress to still fit me for the wedding.  And you might even get to see
a full length picture of me in it.  I said might so don't get too excited yet.

Well I am getting ready for the trip on Sunday....will be posting my index cards still from the road, everywhere I go has wifi, so I am taking my laptop.  You wouldn't want to miss a riveting minute of this trip.  Question, do you make your bed every day......I will tell you I don't make it in the morning, but I must make it before I get in it, crazy I know.  I used to make the bed every morning before I went to work.  Now, only if I have company...I don't want them to think I am a slob...

I had fun creating this one, all I did was I had some painted papers, tore a little, glued it on the index car, found a girl in a magazine, painted over her, and the flower and here is my version of a collage.

You sometimes the elements all come together, and sometimes, its crap....

I doubled up the index cards on this one, and used different colors of acrylic paint, and then tried to find a shape, and I found the fish.  I enjoyed doing this, sometimes you cant find anything, but sometimes it works out

Time to dream

This is the month of the index card challenge, actually its two months, June and July.  But I am only doing it for the month of June.  I am taking july and august off blogging, its very quiet in the summer so its time to enjoy .  Anyway I have created 26 index cards so far, and scheduled all of them to

post.  They are all not great masterpieces but I had fun creating them and that is all that matters right.
