Its Saturday 12:00 noon and I have already been to Costco...that is a day in itself. Spent way to much money. Now I am off to the art store, etc. Today is a me day..I like those days, nobody but me doing what I want and when I want to. How about you what do you do on your me days.
Well happy friday to you all. When I was working I really could hardly wait for Friday to come, cause that meant the weekend. Now everday is Friday...but still I look forward to it. This is an art journal page I was playing with yesterday while watching TV...I like how it turned out. If everyone has a good white pen that writes over anything, please tell me, I am on the search for one...
Meet my Paper Bag Boy. Actually I was shopping the other day and got a paper shopping bag. Got it home and thought I will reuse this and do something with it, so here it is. I loved doing it, I love the eye patch I think it makes him myserious looking.
Here is one of my little watercolours I have been doing, I like doing them they are fast and easy.
Now this is something I have been working on for awhile. Lots of texture and colour. The lips are not quite right yet, he looks like he has Mick Jagger lips, need to fix that. Sorry about the mess around the picture..
I used some of my new "school supplies" on the whale. I wanted to get some Derwent Intense Watercolour Pencils, and here they are. I love how they stay the colours. I did a bunch of work in the studio yesterday. I finished two abstracts, worked on this Indian dream sequence, and finished the paper bag picture that I was working on. Plus a bunch of watercolour pictures done on postcard size watercolour paper. This is one of them.
Well its September was never my favourite month, those long ago memories of first days of school. Now its the dreaded winter fast approaching. I do love fall colours, the cooler weather. I had fun creating this page hope you like it to. Today is the day I am going to kick my butt into high gear, its 8:00 am an ungodly hour to be up and the house already vacumned the dog taken to doggy day car and the girl gone off to college, the hubby at work. So what is this lady of lesisure going to do today you got it some art. Some shopping at the art store they have a sale on, I think I need new school supplies (lol . More cleaning for 1 more hour that is my house cleaning time limit today. So I am off on my house cleaning to get it done and out of the way. I might even post later and show you what I have done......
I have a pretty new car, a Honda Civic and I am happy with it. I got it when it was brand new, my first new car. I went practical, good gas mileage, good resale value. The car I really wanted was a Volkswagan Convertible. My friend Sandy has it, in Pearl with leather seats. When I dirve with her with the top down I am in heaven. But the practical me says you cant drive with the top down when its -40 degrees out. So I made a good choice...Oh by the way the dream car is candy apple red and I am one hot thin looking mama in it. Thats why its a dream....you can see yourself anyway you want.
I have been sketching a Picasso look alike but does not really look like the original but good practice. I just used charcoal, I think Picasso used ink.
Have you ever made a promise to yourself to do something and then set a date to do it and then never followed through. Its like you say your going to start a diet on monday, and monday comes and start and then you break it half way through the day and then you say well now I have broken it I quess I will start next monday. Well thats what I do I call it broken monday promises. So this monday for sure I am going to join the YMCA and start walking, swimming and using the weights no more broken promises for me.
Well thank god its Friday and a long weekend. This weekend Sunday is our 35 year anniversary. I know 35 years with the same guy what am I thinking. For 35 years its been pretty great, of course we have had out ups and downs and really downs but we manage to work it out its all about comprimise by both parties (mostly his).
Raining today, not the soft rain, but the full on its raining cats and dogs. So today is PJ day for me. I am staying in them all day (or until hubby gets home we have to go out for supper tonight, I dont think PJ's would fit the bill). Its going to be an art day, working on a second blue on blue canvas to join the first one. Thanks for reading
If you have been faithfully reading my blog you will note that I put up a canvas I was working on, and I had let it sit a few days and reworked it, this is the finished version. I like it better than the first.
Hi, I have been posting like crazy lately, I dont know when this mojo is going to give in, so better not get used to it. I have been working in my journal, this picture is one of them. I love working in my journal it gives me freedom to make mistakes and not care about them. You see the blue lines, they are from another page in my journal, and the paint was still wet and got on this picture, but I dont care. But if it was a canvas......I am way to high strung, I need to start practice to become a laid back kind of gal.
I worked on this last night used acrylics, string,and the newspaper, I think it came together pretty well.
Yes I am still watching the olympics and decided to create something. If you cant tell these are mini TV's the way most of us are watching the Olympics. I wish I was there, I would love to walk on the Great Wall of China what history...oh well I can watch my TV and dream
When I was working I had no time to do anything, it was work, come home, get supper, clean up, if time some art not always(rarely) and then bed. Same routine every day. Now that I dont work, I am still as busy, how did I ever fit work into my schedule. So I have decided that I need to get off this fast train to nowhere and take some time and do things for me.....how about you.

I noticed that I have been doing a lot of birds and fish lately, so I decided I needed to practice a quick drawing 5 minutes or less...the more you practice the better you get. So I decided on a naked back, so I asked my daughter to pose.....the answer I cannot repeat, my husband same answer. So I used the model in a book I have that Renoir painted, I must say his drawing is much better. She looks like she has no bum....oh to look like that again.Here is the original painting....from Renoir
Still in my art journal, using charcoal and the wax crayons....and water. I am working on that acrylic peice now, first coated with blue and sprayed with turpintine, with photo later to show you effect.
I made these as a stencil, and again playing around with ideas in my sketch book. I just used charcoal on them. I am planning on using plexiglass for these birds...will show you when done.
Been working in my journal, and thinking about pattern and fish, and the olympics...random yes I know. And here is what I came up with. I love fish, I love to draw them, and some of the colours of the fish are fantastic. That is why my fish is so colourful. I again used my neocolours, and charcoal.
my own rendering of a painting done on cave walls found in France. I have been reading an art book on this, and decided to try my hand at it. The animals I tried to make prehistoric looking.
I started out with this picture to do a photo transfer which worked fine, I added stuff etc, and I did not like the direction it was taking. I was going to throw it out, when I thought to myself make something else.
And this is what I made. Hence the name Godess of the Flower Pot. On one of my favourite artchannels on Youtube, Paganart wants to trade art with people, so I thought this would be perfect for him. But now I am second guessing myself, maybe it looks to amaterish, dont be afraid to tell me, if you think it is and I wont send it....
This is a small series I am working on for my home, various colours of blue I think the cavas is 12x16. It is not finished yet, but I have used various different things, stencils, molding paste, some tile paste, acrylics etc. 
These are stencils I am working on, I just finished the butterfly, the reason it is yellow is because I used it with yellow spray paint, it took hours to cut out.
