Are you a visual artist

Are you sick of my flowers yet? I went to the library and got a flower book, so i could amp up my flowers.  Since I am not much of a flower person I thought I better start drawing some different flowers.  You can take pictures of flowers, but alas the flowers around here dont start coming up until at least June.  The weather been so cold (i have the heat on today) that it might be July.  I saw picture of some flower pots at this blog
Mine didn;t turn out quite as nice as the real ones, i changed it up a bit, used watercolour crayons, which dont really give you that pop of colour, but Sandy was so nice and let me print out the picture, so thanks Sandy once again.  I am not the kind of artist that can draw from my mind, some things yes but most things I visually have to see.  Question of the day, are you a visual artist, or an institutive artist ?.

  1. No, I'm not sick of your flowers yet...and I doubt I ever will be. Your pots of flowers are beautiful!

I think I might be a little of both, visual and intuitive. It just depends on what I'm drawing and how I'm feeling.

  3. These are beautiful, Lee! I really like them. I don't think I could draw from my mind if my life depended on it!

  4. Nowhere near tired of the flowers yet...it's a subject that never is boring because there are SO many interpretations - real or imaginary flowers....they're all pretty. I paint/draw both from my mind and from a photo or inspiration image - I can't usually make my drawing look anything like a picture or what's in front of me, so I feel more successful when I make it up. Then no one can tell if its "right" because there's no picture to compare it to. :) Keep going - let's do more flowers!

  7. Love all of your flowers, however I especially like the second photo below this post the best, love at how you added in some pretty neat designs.

Would love to see more of your flowers Pretty please?

  8. I like your flowers! I'm a bit of both - but when I draw (unless it is a tangle or a doodle) I need to see what I'm drawing - at least it turns out better that way.

  9. agreeing with all above - impossible to be sick of flowers. when I'm trying to draw something representational I'm very visual. I'm not even aiming for realism, but I still need to see some kind of model. and maybe that's why I prefer abstract - because that process is intuitive for me, and much more fun.
