A kick in the pants...

Yesterday someone made a comment on my blog, that they liked my work but would probably get more comments, if I commented back.  And you know there right, I like it when I go to someone site and they notice that I commented.  So what the hell is wrong with me, lazy, don't care , what.  I do care a lot when someone comes to my site, and makes the effort to comment, so I make this vow that if you comment I will answer you back and visit your blog, because if you are here we have a lot in common.

  1. That's true, and for me, the whole fun of blogging is the contact to other bloggers. Love your sketch! Valerie

  3. You know, it's well knowned that people visit and read without leaving comments. It's much more fun to have contact with others, I think, so that's why I usually comment. We do, after all, put in some work to make our posts and it's nice to read the reactions from others.

    Lovely sketch as well.

  4. I used to send an email to each person who commented...but then it got to be too much. I didn't have time to art. So now I just try to visit each person who comments. It's such a double-edged sword. I love the comments and love to visit other blogs but then I also need time to do more art so I have something to share on my blog.

  5. I used to comment back most of the time. I've got lazy or busy lately. Don't put yourself under pressure though Lee. Sometimes is better than never!

  6. I am too busy these days...just too busy, but that will change soon. So I hope to visit my blog friend more. I love this whimsical drawing Lee.

  7. Yes Janet, you put my thoughts in words. I'm busy with a dayjob five days a week so there is not much time left for art and I know this double-edged sword as well. But I LOVE it to visit other blogs and to see all the beautiful art around me and to read the everyday experiences of the artsy bloggers and find so much inspiration on all these beautiful blogs around so I try to leave comments as often as I can because I think this is the purpose of a blog as well. And Lee, I LOVE YOUR BLOG so please apologize if I'm sometimes not able to leave a comment. I probably wrote already thousands of emails that day in the office and my fingers refuse to press any button on the keyboard in the evening.

  8. Hello Lee, I absolutely love, love, love your art and your often amusing words and writing, but it is a bit off-putting to never get anything back when I make a comment, so I agree with Anonymous - pity she couldn't leave her name, however. And by the way, a simple thank you is not good enough either, IMO. Of course maybe you don't want more comments as it is a lot of work (although I find it rewarding) so you could just carry on as you are, making your wonderful art and blogposts and having many silent visitors!
