Thoughts of Morocco

I have always dreamed of going to morroco. I think the colors of the country would be like this.

This I did in my art journal the color from the previous page bleed thru, but I don't care .

I have been working on some small art pieces to post all thru the month of dec well really only until dec 25.  I am only up to day 13 and running out of ideas.

I am going to do a dyi project to hang on my wall will show when it is done

when your Brain gets in the way

 

 

this is what happens to my brain when I

am trying to learn to draw it better, I have

pages and pages of these all different, trying

to make them right.  In my brain, I know

they look fine, they are my style, but something

in there is saying, your buildings should look

realistic, but I know its not my style.  I wish

the other side of my brain would just shut

the hell up and the listen to the rational part once in a while

tricks of the trade

 

Good morning, how are you all doing, well woke up today to

snow on the ground, so how do you think I am doing.....

Usually snow on the ground means it sticks around and

will here until spring. Oh well whats a girl going to do,

I am adapting, last week in 95 degree weather, and this

week snow.

Ok enough moaning about the weather, as you will

notice the faces are the same, but the back ground is

different.  I make backgrounds, slaving away in the studio,

scan them, and store them on the computer.  And when

I don't like the way a picture turns out, I go to photoshop

and switch up my backgrounds, and its like you have

a whole new picture.  That's one of my tricks of the trade,

do you have any, lets share.

let the bells ring out I am home.  My homecoming was less than

thrilling, you know all the time you spend waiting at the

airport, and then when you finally get home, I am

not feeling so great.  My stomach is rolling around

and I am thinking I have got some kind of bug,

and then its like a mild flu bug, but it

keeps you down for about two days.  Today

I finally feel more like myself.  Anway  I had a great

time with my gal pals, we shopped and shopped,

and still I did not spend my limit, what's that

about, I must have contracted that fever early.  We also went to

to three movies, I know , I know are you middle-aged bordering on

old or what.  But honestly movies are 6.50 there for a senior

I think senior age there is 50, my age, that's my story and

I am sticking to it.  And to top it all off you buy one bag of

popcorn, you save the bag and bring it back the next time

you are at a movie, and free popcorn.

Here where I live in Canada, if you want to go out to the

movies, first you mortgage your house, and if you want

1000 million calorie laden popcorn (and who doesn't) plus the diet coke to counter balance the effect of the popcorn,

you have to sell your first born.  I would move there

just for the movie deal.  Ok enough about my cheapness,

this is us deciding what movie to go to, and before we

left we had seen  three of them, but missed the Judge

project runway week 3 workout wear

 

Well Heidi this is the week I have been waiting to see.  It's very hard

for a designer to design for a curvy woman.  They tend to put them all in

older women clothes.  Curvy women no matter what age, want and

need great workout clothes, or clothes in general.  I see that the designer

Lee has tended to the bright colours and stripes, but you know Heidi, this

works.

A pesky bug....

 

I got it, that bad cold that is going around.

Last week the hubster got it, and he lost his voice, okay

I liked that part.  Now I thought I was going to dodge

the bullet, I have not had a cold I bet in 15 years.

But got up today and its bad, and least its not next

week when I would be jetting off to Phoenix, so bring

it on so I wont be down for the count in Arizona, also

got some Cold fx to take care of this bug.

Well it looks like Week 2 got off to a good start, the first designer is

 

India, oh just a minute does that skirt look like it's seams are finished.

No Heidi it looks like she used safety pins to finish, oh my that's

sure to go against her. But otherwise her designs are crisp, and

clean, and something I would wear out shopping.

Addiction...and road update

 

I am reading a terrific book, called All Fall Down

by Jennifer Weiner

its about a blogger  the original reason I picked it up,who is addicted to Oxy and other pain relieve drugs and it all started because she hurt her back .  I cant put it down it is riveting in its process how the addiction takes hold,

  I understand how addiction can happen.  I have a friend

who has an addiction ( and really this friend is not me for sure).  It

affects everyone and everything in their lives.  I highly recommend this book,

if you like to read great fiction books this one is for you.

 

On a lighter note I am off on a road trip with my friend, going thru the

Rocky Mountains, and on to her house, which is a lake community in another

province for some down time, and fun.  No husbands, no kids, no dog for me.  The rest of the time I am away I will have a guest blogger so stay tuned starting tomorrow.

I am a blogger.....

 

When someone asks me what I do, I tell them I am a artist and a  blogger.

Then the questions come, dependent upon the age of

the asker, what is a blog? why do you do it? where do you show your art?

what kind of art do you do?

I blog and I show my art on my blog, that's what I do.

 

 Where else could you show your art, or your craft, or your thoughts, or whatever and still remain as anonymous as you want to be but on your blog 

 

Where else could you be tolling away on your blog, and someone

come and offer you a deal to write a book (no it did not happen to me, still waiting lol)

.

Where else could you meet people from all over the world and call them friend

 

Where else could you read a blog that touches your heart.
Where else could you meet a group of likeminded women and not even have to go out of your house, get a recipe, a housecleaning tip, design ideas, see magical art I could go on and on.
Where else can you get critics on your art, or ask for ideas, or just wanna communicate your thoughts and ideas and get feedback.

 

That's why I am a blogger and proud to be one.

 



get happy.....

I have been really happy lately, the hubster is feeling better, and

life in general is not kicking me in the pants. 

Here is a little story of how I came by my name

now Lee on a girl is not really common, especially

spelled  the way it is.  Well my mother tells the

story, like this, this was back in the day

when apparently drinking did not affect

your baby, (lol) now we know what happened to me.

Anyway as she says she was in a "beer Parlour" have

a beer with my Dad, and they meet a (lady) who

name happened to be Lee, and that's how I got

my name.  My other sister's name was Delta,

not a common name either (was my dads mothers name)

and my other sister name is Vicki-Lynn (lol) sounds

like a country and western singer, my older sister

came up with that one.  So do you know

how your name came about.  My daughters name is Lyndsey,

my husband picked that one out, but her middle name

is Brydges which was my maiden name, which died

when my dad died.  So she said whenever she has

kids she will ensure one them has that name as

a middle name.....

this tree looks like a zipper (lol). But as long as I had

fun drawing it right.  Its a beautiful day here, the hubster is going

out with friends to the football game tonight.  I am going

out to dinner with a friend, and today I am going to

enjoy the weather on the deck, and sketch.  What are you

doing today.

A few of my favourite things....

 

Last night while watching TV, I sat sketching and

this is what came out, and I only used

markers.  I thought that since this was Friday,

I would tell you a few of my very favourite art supplies.

I know you are all on the edge of your seat and have

been wondering what I use (lol).  So here it goes:

 

I use markers a lot I like the intensity of colour

it gives, its portability, so my favourite ones are

PERMAPAGUE, I used to get them

at Michaels but cant find them anymore,

so my art store carries them. I have all colours.

 

My favourite black pen is

PILOT PERMABALL PEN (M)

this baby writes over anything

Alymers Purple Glue

use were black, yellow red, and blue, I used markers that

turn into watercolours when you use water

Frida has a date night.....

 

well its date night for Frida and Diego, they

usually go to Pablos  for a few cerveza and a  few
dances.  Tonight Diego and Frida had a
few too many , and Frida found him under
the table.  

The Bird.

 

as you know I have been quite dis-satisfied with my art

lately, I have been doing a series of bird sketches

from pictures off the internet.  Now most of my birds

are not realistic, but the series of sketches I am doing

I am trying to be more realistic.  I have done about

10 of them, I am going to paint them with acrylics,

but true to my style, they will be my color

pallet.

Today is all about

taking the car in for warranty check

driving with open windows, and playing summer tunes

swimming

going for lunch with a art friend

going to the museum to see embroidery exhibition

enjoying the beautiful hot weather

I did this a long time ago, I saw an ad in some magazine

and decided to give it a try, I like the way it

turned out.

 

Every June our neighbour hood of about 500 home has a giant grage sale,

usually out of those 500, about 100 or more homes decides to participate.

I have one garage sale person, who I go to every year, she must work or

own a store, or retails to stores.  Her Stuff is amazing, that's the only

garage sale, I go to.  Now all this stuff is brand new, so heres what  I got

tea towels, not the cheap ones either

and other misc. items

all for 30.00 which would easily be over 100.00

now the hubster would say did you really need that

pasta maker, because you have never ever made homemade pasta,

and my answer will be , but now I can if I want to.
