The goods were baked

long day

but Christmas baking is done
work shared with wonderful friends
and of course divided up

today we are going to see the Wrigley Mansion

(in honour  of this, I am going to pop in a little piece of gum in my mouth)

today its cloudy,

 in all my years I have come here I have never seen a cloud, it's windy as well,

but its still 65 degrees, and at home its below zero and snowing, so you guess which one I

would rather be at

I keep rubbing it in to hubby  over the phone especially when he has the snow blower out

tuesday morning was okay not what I expected

saw the new flick with my man Denzil loved it

dinner at the cheesecake ate oft the skinnydelicious menu

turkey burger and salad , so good and under 560 calories

I have been friends with for at 36 years.  Some friends come and go in your life, and some friends just stick. We are the kind of friends that even if we didn't see each other for a long time, it would be like we just saw each other yesterday.  We go away every year together, and we have a blast.  We all are very laid back and  just go along with the flow.  We talk non stop about everything under the sun, I am sure the TV  never goes on.  We all like the same things, we all love to read, we love to shop, go to different restaurants  have a few good drinks and we all love relax.  I cherish these friends. Everyone needs to have a friend or friends like this in their life, I hope you do.

There is going to old old art on here, for the next 12 days as I will be away in Phoenix  so some of you will never have seen it, and some of you might remember it , but come back and see how I have progressed as the years passed by.

Well happy Halloween to you all.  We don't get very many kids to our door.  For a couple of reasons, we live almost at the end of a street then a ravine, so kids don't feel its worth there while to go down a street with 5 houses on it, and then have to walk back to go to another street.  The second, it too damn cold here to go out.  But the hardy put on there costumes and there parkas and make sure they get there candy limit.  We are giving out bags of chips , and little chocolate bars/

Another journal page, I have always wanted to do yoga. But I think I would find

it difficult because if i was able to lift my leg up, and that's a big if, you would have to call the ambulance,

because I wouldn't be able to walk again.  I would be stuck in the upward dog forever.

Another page from my journal, I changed everything on the girl except her skin and face.  As you can tell I love the color pink, I drew a little bit of grid pattern there, and there is lots of room for journalling. I think maybe my pages are a bit to clean and orderly, I would love to see some of your pages.

Another oldie but goodie.  Well its Saturday, at about 2:45 just walked devil dog, and am walking the dog next door I call him the Peeer because he pees every 2 seconds.  I have already done Costco,bought 2 christmas presents there .  Next on my way to the bookstore, for a hot chocolate, and reading some magazines I dont have to pay for, after all I am retired and living on a limited income (lol).  Hope you all have a great weekend.

Little by little I am letting the idea of perfection go.  I shouldnt really complain about my mr. clean husband, I have this perfection addiction.  When I first started art again I threw more art away than I can count.  It was not pretty, it was not artistic, it sucked the big one, on and on.  Now that I have been back doing this for awhile, it finally sunk into this head of mine that art is what I make it for me, and I am going to quote an overused quote (it is what it is).  It is the way i feel, the way i see, and the way I want it to be.  Hence the head hanging down around her neck , just in case you didnt get it.  This is another page in my journal.

The first picture was taken in Germany, I am not sure where, I think we were just coming into this town, to get on a boat to sail down the Rhine.  The second picture was Buckingham Palace.  I have been seeing  artist painting on pictures, so I thought I would give it a try, I think I need to work on this a little more.....

The Process...

Another page in my journal, my process is I create the pages, in the whole book might take me forever (lol) and then I go back and journal in them.  The most fun for me is creating the pages.  When you journal do you have a process?

I feel like a trade, who wants to trade with me, postcard, ATC, journal page, I am up for anything. No theme, its a free for all.  If you want to let me know and we can exchange addresses.

Project 1:  This is wool roving and I want to felt it, you use those needles there, I want to make some hearts that I need for a special project we are going to do in Phone-ix  and if I make the hearts ahead of time it would be good

Project 2: I want to organize all my stencils into a big honking binder so it is easier to find.  (I have done that today and it turned out great, next what to do with rubons

Project 3:  I just slapped some paint down on this, so its was not a blank canvas and its been sitting on my
easel for about a month, I want to get to it.

Project 4:  Fabric Paper, since I saw the video I have been itching to make some, I will link the tut for you

Replay

Its Saturday, and this is replay.  On Saturday I am going to post an old piece of art, you may or may not have seen.  A new feature here in Lee Land.  Gotta keep this blog going somehow.  Because my life is just not that exciting to talk about.  I could tell you what we are having for dinner, and I might just do that.  I could tell you I have 50 percent coupon to Michaels and just don't need anything, but feel compelled to go and use it.  I could tell you its snowing here, and rainy and cold, and I have the fireplace on.   I could tell you my husband the clean freak is driving me crazy with his cleaning fetish, and that you could come to my house and not see a speck of dust on the ceiling because he cleans that as well.  I could tell you that I can hardly wait to head off to Phone ix on november 5 for 10 days.  I could tell you that I am going to post on the road, so that you will not miss a minute of this river-ting blog.  I could tell you that 40 plus pounds have come off this body, and that I still have a few needed pounds to rid myself of.  I could tell you that I need to get my hair dyed soon because there is more grey than brown,  I could tell you that I will always dye my hair even when I am 90.  I could tell you that I have changed my cooking habits, and have made more light recipes in the last 8 months, than in my whole lifetime of cooking.  I could tell you that I love cooking light magazine.  I could tell you my blood pressure has finally stabilized and that I might be able to get off my blood pressure pills.  I could tell you that I fell while washing the kitchen floor awhile ago and did the splits, just like a dancer.  I could tell you that I fell the muscle all the way down to my toes.  I could tell you that now because of that I need to go to rehab and get my gluts (butt muscle) worked on because its hurts when I sit for to long. I could tell you that the rehab guy will probably think that he needs a raise because he has to work on my butt.

I could tell you that this post is too long, and you could tell me that it was boring as hell?

Did this last night while watching TV.  I tried to make him look tough (lol) hence that big honking thing on his face which is suppose to be a tattoo, I tried to give him that unshaved look. But i thought I was making the background dark red, and it turned pink, so he's tough, but with a pink fetish......

The cards are done, they have been put in the envelope, the money has been pd, and they will be in the mail on Wednesday.  I enjoyed making these, and finding the quotes and I would join again.

collage junk

This is the way I store my emphera (lets just call it what it is collage junk.  And by the way, this has been downsized.  Its tissure paper, old papers, old photos, you no stuff you cant part with (lol), and I dont make that many collages, I better get busy and use it up .....before I get to old and cant collage anymore. There has to be a better way to store this stuff, I have tried like stuff with like stuff, I have tried folders, a box, now I want to know how to do you store your collage junk?  I have the same problem with stencils, I have alot of them, that I cant part with, so now I need to store, at present they are in a box under my art table?  So how do you store yours.

Another one of those annoying faces, I keep drawing,that look all the same.  I am trying to make

them look better, and more human like, more practice is needed, be prepared to see more of these woman one day they will look human

Today I went and got my flu shot, put up your hand if you get the flu shot.  I am never been sick from the shot, and since I got the shot, have not had the flu.  I totally believe in the shot, if you could not have guessed   it.

loving that site, it makes me create small things , the yellow sticky, I was covering up the address, so the whole world didn't see.  Not that the whole world, reads this blog.   the big one with flowers, is the envelope I made to mail the ATCS.  Had a great night last night, ate way to much and then ate the cheesecake, it was delicious.  Today the shopper is coming over for supper, and I going to take it easy.  What is your schedule on Sunday's?

A little bird told me....

Another page in my journal, I drew the bird, and marker it up, and found the egg is a collage sheet, and the rest came from my stash, and some stencils.  Hope you don't mind me showing my journal pages, as not much has been done around here except the 52 cards, which I will show on Monday.  Tonight we are off to the Red Lobster with friends, and back to our house for Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Cafe, its our friends birthday.  So tomorrow there will be no post, after that cheesecake I will be sleeping at the pool (lol).

My philosophy about my diet is I count calories, when it's important to have whatever one else is having, and I don't want to feel deprived, I have it.  Then I move on to the next day, I don't any more say well I blew it today might as well start again Monday.  I used to do that, and all it did was pack on the pds.  Now I just move on to the next day and stay on track.....

not much left on them, and then hopefully in the mail by Monday.  I am

in a Halloween Atc mail exchange, so I created those and am going to get those in the mail

on Saturday.

My Art Journal

Here is a peek at one of my journals, I think I am working on three, this one I bought at the bookstore, for 2.00 brand new.  I gessoed most of the pages, and prepainted about half the book.  I only have about three pages done.

 The bird on the suitcase is the inside page of the front cover, I have not done the front cover I might not, doesnt matter to me.

 And my first page in my journal, its pretty neat and tidy right, try and try to grunge it up, and you know it must not be in me, I left plenty of space to write on the page.
