Snow and a journal page

 

well tonight we change the clocks and get an extra hour of sleep

its snowing here today and tomorrow

went to a journal page class today and made this

loved the class great teacher

I changed mine up a bit, but a girl has to put her own spin on things

Flower Tales

 

another picture that was painted by me on paper

I am going to frame this one and put it in my house

I loved doing this one, I painted, scrapped, used

old paper, painted over it, mixed colors, and

generally just had some fun,  not caring about the

outcome.  And since I didn't care, it took

a life of its own on and this is what showed up.

 

I have been having some problems with my knee

you know the knee goes first, and its all downhill from there (lol)

anyway went to the dr.  and she says its could be a baker cyst

pressing on the nerve, making the knee unstable.

So on Friday I am having a x-ray, and ultrasound on it

So until then I am suppose to take it easy

I guess that means no housework or at least that's what I told the hubby.

Meet Ruby...,.

time to meet ruby, I have finally finished her or almost

and she's ready to go to a new home

I am really nervous about that

I am giving her as a gift and really what can they say

but oh thanks you shouldn't have

maybe they really are saying, what the hell was she thinking

we will have to bring it out when she visits

I had stamped on there

and it looked crappy so I ended up repainting over it

ah the beauty of fixing mistakes and have

decided to use paper instead that still has to be done

I plan on giving it this weekend, if I don't chicken out

I had fun making this one

today is a typical fall day

beautiful, leaves out in all there glory

everyone out rakeing them up

because tonight its suppose to SNOW

I know what's that about

but I hear its going to be nice next week

so the snow will probably be all gone

tonight its spinach salad,

homemade chicken soup

and French bread

the hubby is not feeling well

so you know the saying

chicken soup makes anyone feel better

ok maybe you don't know that saying

but its something like that

today I got my flu shot, so bring it on

my crock pot gave up and bought a new one

spent hours trying to get a header on this blog, and as you can see it is not working for me

received my circle journal in the mail,

joined Ihanas 10 postcard challenge, you know how I like those challenges (lol)

working on a special project for a family member more on that later

now I need to walk devil dog

had a great weekend

 today bought a new collage book

I should have just made one

steak, sweet potato and salad for dinner

City Council election for my city is over

my candidate lost by 70,000 votes

I guess I better not pick the lottery numbers anymore

ordered a DVD of Walking you weight off by Leslie somebody

if only it was that easy

going to give it a try

ordered some pens that are suppose to write over anything

we will see

another drawing from my angel booklet

when I went to phoenix, I made a firm decision to
just enjoy the time with my friends.
that meant no taking any art supplies, no journaling just
hanging out and enjoying myself.
I did have to break that rule, I bought myself a cheap
booklet, with lines, and I just sketched, it seems I
have to be doing something with my hands, who knew.
the urge to sketch got the best of me, that's probably
one of the reasons I am an artist. 

I will bloom again.....

I am back and blogging

I must have been blogged out from all of those faces

but I am well rested and ready to go again

had a great time in Phoenix

spent lots of money

bought lots of things

and some even for other people

the weather was amazing

hot, hot  hot while I was there

I think it sprinkled one night late

ate lots of amazing food and now

have to work it off

had a great time with my friends

so now I am back, stepped off the plane

and knew the holiday was over, the

weather was not remotely warm

devil dog is off to the vet, which she will not like

I have received some really great art in the mail the last three days

so going to have make some to send out

thinking of giving a painted canvas to a friend and wondering she will like it
thinking of what to pack for when I go to Phoenix with my girl friends
getting the house ready for winter
washing all the  winter blankets
getting out the winter jackets and mitts
getting out the winter matts
thinking of painting some pumpkins for the front of the house
bonding with both sets of neighbours
cleaning out the summer clutter
wondering what to cook and freeze for the hubster while gone, so he does not starve
helping out with a friends campaign who is running for Mayor
cooking healthy recipes to help in my quest for healthy eating
thinking about quitting the blog , and pondering they whys and why not's
reading all my favourite blogs and leaving comments
thinking about what to get everyone for Christmas (I know I am nuts)
trying to talk the hubster into going away after Christmas for a trip
shutting[ up  and closeing this post so you can get back to your day

and then I just changed her up with paint, a new dress wings and a gelli

Last day of summer.

 

hey all you bloggers out there how are you this great Saturday last day of summer

are you thinking about fall

I am I like fall, cool nights, cozy fire, leaves changing, where I live the leaves are changing already

Fall usually is short around here near the end of October and 90% of the time we have snow by the time Halloween arrives, or its so cold you always have to wear your boots and coat under your

Halloween costume

If you are a regular reader of the blog you know I go away for about 10 days

with my girl friends to Phoenix , this year we leave on Oct 7 and I cant wait.

One year we went late in November and were Christmas shopping in our shorts, that

felt really weird but nice, no heavy coat to worry about  and tire you out.

 

today I am off  to the stationary store, to the art store, to visit a doggy daycare .  I once in awhile put the devil dog in a daycare for the day, for her to socialize with other pooches.  Mine moved quite far away and I decided it was time for a change so I am looking at other ones.  So far they are more like prisons, then fun.

So that's my day, what's on your agenda for today

fifty shades of....

 

do you think she been reading to much fifty shades of grey and wanted a blindfold

when I finished her, I did not like her eyes, but I liked other things about her

hence the blindfold, and yes you would be right to say haven't you done a

blind fold before yes I have, different girl, same problem eyes

 

today was library day, got some new books on tape for the car

I love listening to books on tape as I scoot around the city

its pasta for dinner tonight

When I was a teenager I had a friend named Gail

She had one green eye and one brown eye

I used markers, and neo color crayons on Gail.  and her size

is 4 by 4 I made quite a few 4x4 ladies these the last few days

I wanted to see if I could fill up the space

I was this close to calling it a day with the blog .The weather has been great just like summer, and highly unusual for here in September/

Okay I am off to sit on the deck and have a drink, after all the stress of the last three days

I am going to finish a canvas portrait I am painting and have been finding problem after problem with it seems I don't like anything about it anymore, so I am going to finish it today and call it done like toast

 

I am not having to much inspiration in my art life, or on this blog don't know what to talk about

I was getting tired of girl faces

I have been thinking that I would like to go on a cruise

now just to talk the hubster into it

got my circle journal off

trying to get the 29 faces drawn

so I can move on to something else

I am making lasagna for dinner tonight

and I am going to finish my travelling journal and pass it on

my life is totalling thrilling right (lol)

This is what I look like when I wake up

is enough even to scare me

I cant just jump out of bed and go somewhere

first I have to take a shower and do my hair.

Not much work to my hair, I wear it short, and its dead straight

but I am lucky and have a lot of hair and its thick

ok tonight its leftovers, whatever is in the fridge

I bought a new pair of winter shoes today

and a workout jacket

hubby asked when was I going to workout in it

and I replied, I don't want to get it dirty

all buttoned up nowhere to go

 

she looks quite straight laced

 I assure I am not

 

today its going to be sunny and warm

everyone assures me that they are feeling good enough for a bbq

so bbq for dinner it is

the shopper is coming over in a few minutes and we are

going to winners (for my usa friends its like homesense but with clothes and home goods)

so I am off to blow the dust off my wallet

its a miserable day here

comfort food needed

maybe homemade mac and cheese

there has been much sickness around here

both husband and daughter has had emergency hospital visits

both are okay

even the dog has to have medicine applied

she does not like the cone, so she has been pouting for two days now

 

the shopper (aka the daughter)has been quite sick since coming

home from Thailand ,bad stomach pains and the rest that goes along with it

the doctor gave her something for it, so it seems to be easing a little

 

well devil dog needs a walk and since I am only the only one home I guess I am

elected to do it

have a great Friday

faces doesn't take a break on the weekends so I guess I will be here

I don't wear much makeup, who sees me around the house

but as my mother used to say some lipstick and your ready to go

so far so good on keeping up on the challenge

If you haven't noticed  I am trying a new style of face

I have not given up on my old style, you will see them here soon

so what do you think, should I persue this

I am trying for a more realistic look, not quite exact but not as

folk arty as my other ones.

its hot here today and I think its bbq tonight for dinner

devil dog has to go to the vet lady problems I think (lol)

my art store has a big sale on, I am trying to stay away but it keeps calling me to come and spend some money on stuff I really don't need.

will keep you informed if my muse decides to go and spend

that what I tell the hubby it wasn't me who spent the money

I have joined Ayala  29 faces in September (see sidebar and join in on the fun.

Now this angel is having a bad day, must be because of that squinty eye she has

hope you wont get sick of the faces to soon, I am squeezing in the angel

booklet with the faces the best I can

Had a great anniversary and now here is to the next 40 (lol)

I might have to trade the hubby in for a younger version, stamina is needed

Yes, I am back early but I am back

going away again around Sept 10 for a Week road trip with the hubby and devil dog

Oct 7-17 to Phoenix, but I probably will post from there

My summer has been fun

I had a small project put in Altered Arts online

I did some art

Joined an art journal page swap which I am sweating about already

had a art date with a friend Gail who I met online who happens to live in the same city and

she joined the Art Journal swap as well

created an angel booklet to be posted soon

did a portrait

made some postcards

went to a wedding art journal coming soon

enjoyed our weather a mix of sun and rain

and missed you alI thought about quitting the blog blog about 100 times this past summer,

but Gail and Janet talked to me out of it so if your bored you have them to blame.

Tommorow I am having my 40th wedding anniversary (I was just a baby when I married)

40 years with the the same hubster, who knew

Still enjoying the summer

 

husband has had some health issues, so sort of derailed the travelling for a bit

have done some work in my summer journal which I will show when I am back

 

I have a whole checklist of art things I want to accomplish before I return

so I guess I better get at it
